It’s no secret that your guests are probably pretty excited about that open bar. Here’s how to go above and beyond with your refreshments.
1. If the venue allows, offer cocktails during the ceremony. A mimosa or sangria is a not-too-strong option for guests to sip as you exchange vows.
2. The signature drink is still a popular trend, but when you’re coming up with your concoction, consider how many people will actually drink it. Not everyone enjoys tequila or gin, for example. Create a cocktail that is guest-friendly, but give it a personal name to connect it back to you.
3. Champagne is nice for toasts, but unless it’s really good, chances are it will be wasted. People will take a sip with a toast and leave the full glass on their table. Skip the cost of Champagne and go for an option that everyone will enjoy.
4. Consider the weather. Getting married on a cold winter’s night? A spiked cider or hot chocolate can be a yummy treat. A refreshing lemonade is perfect for summer.
5. Use cocktails in your seating chart. As guests look for their table numbers, they can pick up a drink at the same time.
6. Include non-alcoholic options, but make sure they still look fun and fancy.
7. Serve snacks or apps whenever alcohol is being consumed.
